Antminer S9K, S9SE Evaluation

Antminer S9K, S9SE Evaluation

In June 2016, Bitmain released the Bitcoin Antminer S9, using 189 Bitmain self-developed BM1387 bitcoin miner chips of the latest generation, with a hash rate of 11.85 TH/s, a power of 1172W, and a power consumption ratio of 100W. /T. The BM1387 chip is the fifth-generation bitcoin miner chip independently developed by Bitmain. It adopts TSMC's 16-nanometer FinFET process and is designed with a fully customized solution. As a result, the maximum hash rate of a single chip can reach 74GH/S.

The Antminer S9 series has been in existence since 2016. The first Antminer S9 started with a hash rate of 11.852. Different models of S9 with different hash rates have been iterated continuously, and 13T and 14T versions have also been launched. In May 2018, Bitmain continued to launch upgraded versions of S9 with models S9i and S9j. The hash rate ranged from 13T-14.5T, and the power consumption was further reduced. In the winter of 2018, the market was also in the cold winter season. Bitmain also developed a water-cooled S9 Hydro bitcoin miner with a hash rate of 18T and power consumption of 1800W.
After many winters and summers, Antminer S9 still occupies a dominant position in the Bitcoin mining industry. Today, we evaluate the latest Antminers S9K and S9SE of Bitmain's Antminer S9 series.
Antminers S9K 14T and S9SE 16T were launched in July 2019. The Bitcoin market just experienced a small peak at that time, and the price reached $1,413.83. So perhaps this miner was born for this wave of the market.
Antminer S9SE-16T and S9K-14T are shorter and smaller than the first-generation S9. The physical size of Antminer S9K 14T and S9SE 16T is 321.3*129.6*200mm, and the weight is 4.56kg.

The number of power plugs of the three models of S9 is the same. There are three 6-pin power plugs on each of the three hash boards of the miner, plus the power supply connector of the control board; each miner needs 10 6-pin power connectors. It's just that the new generation of miner plugs has been replaced with more high-temperature-resistant materials.

The Antminer S9k 14T uses a chip codenamed BM1393B-BGM independently developed by Bitmain. The chipping process is 16nm. The three hash boards contain a total of 180 ASIC chips.

Antminer S9SE 16T is the latest generation of S9 from Bitmain. The difference from previous generations is that a protective cover is designed for the position of the control board and power interface. It can be removed by removing the middle screw at the back of the cover, convenient for installing the power cable.

Although the added cover increases the racking process, it provides protection for the control board, the power interface, and the style of the miner power supply after the installation is completed.

Signal direction: "CLK / CO / BO / RST", transferred from U1 to U30, "RI" is transferred from U30 to U1 It also passes 5 test points for testing and maintenance The five test points are: CLK-CO-RI-BO-RST (Please note: The location of the test points in different voltage domains are also different, please refer to the picture notes) For notes and instructions on the test points, please see the following articles: The whole board has 30 chips, divided into 10 voltage domains, and each voltage domain contains 3 chips For the description of

How to repair ASIC miner hash board

How to repair ASIC miner hash board Important parts of ASIC miners – Hash board One  ASIC miner consists of 3 to 5 Hash board, a control board, a casing, and software, among which the Hash board are easiest  to broken. because the ASIC bitcoin miner hash board consists of many serially connected ASIC chips. When they work, they will be in a high-temperature environment for a long time. In this environment, it is easy to burn the chip or scatter the solder due to high temperature which makes the hash board or the mining machine unable to work and no hash rate. How to quickly detective which chips broken it’s the most important when we repairing ASIC miners The Antminer chips fixture fast efficient and easy to use Bitmain Antminer repair inspection tool The ASIC bitcoin miner hash board consists of many serially connected ASIC chips.
