In 2023, is it suitable to use miners to mine or buy coins? In recent years, with the increasing popularity of blockchain technology and the rapid development of digital currency, more and more people have joined the team of mining and buying of coins. In 2023, for most people, choosing to use a miner to mine or buy coins will be a critical decision. Advantages and disadvantages of miners High power consumption, high cost, and high technical requirements are the salient features of miners' mining. But at the same time, miners also have a stable income from mining and have the advantage of controlling the speed of block verification. Here are a few viable Bitcoin miners and their profitability in 2023. Antminer S19 Pro is a miner produced by Bitmain , which is very popular in the market. It is equipped with 114 BM1398 ASIC chips , which can achieve a faster and more stable mining experience. It is estimated that the average daily income of this type of miner in 2023 will exceed 120
List of the best bitcoin miners in 2022
This article provides background on various Bitcoin mining rig models, specifications for specific miners, and daily profits for each rig under current market conditions. All daily income calculations below are based on a hash price of 0.20 $/TH/D.
Bitmain Antminer S19 series
Since its establishment in 2013, Bitmain has become the most famous Bitcoin miner manufacturer. The three most popular miner series in Bitmain are the S19, S17, and S9 series, of which the S19 series is the newest, most powerful, and most efficient.
The original S19 was released in 2020 with an incredible power efficiency of about 34 J/TH. The S19j pro series will be released in 2021 with a higher hash rate and power efficiency of 29.5 J/TH. So far, the S19 and S19j pro have had little reported gross negligence and are both a popular choice for Bitcoin miners.
Released in Dubai in November 2021, the Antminer S19 XP boasts 21.5 W/TH efficiencies, the highest of any air-cooled miner on the market. However, some miners have reported that running the S19 XP too hot can significantly reduce the efficiency of the miner's operation. Still, the specs are greatly relative to other miners currently on the market.
Model | Antminer S19 | Antminer S19j Pro | Antminer S19 XP |
Hashrate, TH/s | 95 ± 3% | 104 ± 3% | 140 ± 3% |
Power, Watt | 3250 ± 5% | 3068 ± 5% | 3010 ± 5% |
Power efficiency, J/TH | 34.5 ± 5% | 29.5 ± 5% | 21.5 ± 5% |

Daily income, $ | 19 | 20.80 | 28 |
Bitmain Antminer S19 XP Hyrdo and S19 Pro Hydro
The miners mentioned above use built-in fans for cooling. However, Bitmain also produces water-cooled models, including the S19 XP Hyrdo and S19 Pro Hydro. Because of this liquid cooling, these miners generate more hash rates than air-cooled ones.
Model | Antminer S19 XP Hydro | Antminer S19 Pro Hydro |
Hashrate, TH/s | 255 ± 3% | 198 ± 3% |
Power, Watt | 5304 ± 5% | 5445 ± 5% |
Power efficiency, J/TH | 20.8 ± 5% | 27.5 ± 5% |
Hash rate price, $/TH/D | 0.20 | 0.20 |
Daily income, $ | 51 | 39.6 |
MicroBT Whatsminer M30 Series
Founded in 2016 by former Bitmain employees, MicroBT is another maker of bitcoin miners. In 2020, with the release of the M30 series, MicroBT brought its most efficient model to the market to date. In fact, before the release of S19 XP, the M30s++ was the most powerful miner on the market, but the only flaw with the M30/M31/M32 series is that they are less efficient than Bitmain's very competitive S19 series.
Model | Whatsminer M30s | Whatsminer M30s++ |
Hashrate, TH/s | 86 ± 3% | 112 ± 3% |
Power, Watt | 3268 ± 5% | 3472 ± 5% |
Power efficiency, J/TH | 38.0 ± 5% | 31.0 ± 5% |
Hash rate price, $/TH/D | 0.20 | 0.20 |
Daily income, $ | 17.20 | 22.40 |
MicroBT Whatsminer M20 Series
Whatsminer M20 is to M30 what Antminer S17 is to S19. It was released a year after the S17 with better specs, and overall the M20 is a more reliable series.
Model | Whatsminer M20 |
Hashrate, TH/s | 68 ± 3% |
Power, Watt | 3360 ± 5% |
Power efficiency, J/TH | 49.4 ± 5% |
Hash rate price, $/TH/D | 0.20 |
Daily income, $ | 13.60 |
Bitmain Antminer S9 and S17 series (if the budget is insufficient)
Bitmain released the Antminer S9 in 2016. At its release, the S9 achieved a record frequency of 11.18TH/s, with an energy consumption of about 98 J/TH. Home-based miners most commonly adopt the S9 in low-price regions like Venezuela. They are generally well-functioning but have largely been squeezed out of the market by more efficient miners.
The launch of the Antminer S17 series follows the S9 series. With a hash rate of around 53TH/s and energy consumption of 45.0 J/TH, this model is still profitable for many home miners or those with higher electricity costs. But this series has many problems. The main problem with the particular batch made in Malaysia is that when the miner runs too hot, the heat sinks on the miner can loosen or separate, which can cause the chip to overheat or the hash board to fall off the miner directly. Therefore, the S17 series usually requires extra attention, and because of this, many mining farms refuse to host this series of models.
Model | Antminer S9 | Antminer S17 |
Hashrate, TH/s | 12 ± 3% | 50 ± 3% |
Power, Watt | 1225 ± 5% | 2385 ± 5% |
Power efficiency, J/TH | 98 ± 5% | 45 ± 5% |
Hash rate price, $/TH/D | 0.20 | 0.20 |
Daily income, $ | 2.40 | 11.20 |
Upcoming Bitcoin Miners in 2022
MicroBT will unveil its latest series of Whatsminer M55 models at this year's Bitcoin 2022 conference, a water-cooled model that should be a competitor to Bitmain's S19 Pro Hydro and S19 XP Hydro.
In 2022, new players will enter the field of miner manufacturing. In theory, Intel's Bonanza Mine 2 should hit store shelves in the third or fourth quarter of this year, despite supply chain disruptions. Additionally, Blockstream is also gearing up to release bitcoin miners this year or next, as is Jack Dosey's fintech and payments company Block (formerly Square), which recently made a significant transformation for bitcoin.
